COME HERE TO LIVE

Maryborough

In the past 12 months, the Central Goldfields Shire has seen significant growth in its commercial offerings. Maryborough remains the hub of activity, with a vibrant retail sector that now includes Coles, Kmart and a number of speciality stores.

Dunolly, Talbot and Carisbrook are developing enviable reputations in niche shopping and market experiences. The monthly Talbot Farmer's Market for example draws visitors from all over Victoria and is widely considered an exemplary farmer's market.

Council welcomes True Foods to 1 O'Halloran Drive (the former Nestle facility), and McDonalds Restaurant to Burns Street, Maryborough. As well as the economic boost, Council looks forward to seeing the benefits these businesses will bring to the community as a whole.

The community recently celebrated the launch of Station Domain, Maryborough - a world class facility that provides a wonderful place to gather and a fitting entrance to the historic Railway Station.

These developments hace cemented Maryborough, and by extension the Shire, as a key regional location.

Council has committed to an innovative Civic Pride initiative to enable it to partner with community organisations on key projects. An example of this is the new town entrance statements, which provide the perfect "welcome" for visitors and residents returning home.

Never before has the region had so much to offer residents and visitors.

Take the next step and join us in moving forward as the Central Goldfields Shire is rich in history and opportunity.
