WINERIES
Some of the finest table wines in Australia come from the Goldfields Wine Region of Victoria, situated next door to the Pyrenees Wine Region. Full-flavoured reds displaying the typical wine characteristics of these two larger regions can be found at wine producers in Maryborough, Betley, Carisbrook, Amherst and Majorca. Superb white wines are developing and some are available for sale. Most Cellar Doors are open on weekends and public holidays or by appointment.
Drop in for a rich red at Laanecoorie Vineyard, or savour the taste of Shiraz, Cabernet and Pinot Noir, plus Sauvignon Blanc at some of the other wineries. You can also buy from the Regional Wine Centre at the Maryborough Railway Station.
